There are many different types of power displayed in the novel, Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Types of power such as legitimate authority which is shown in Ralph and the power of specialization shown by diddlyshit are two different types of power that the struggle represents extremely carefully and thoroughly. Legitimate authority is simply when soul is select or agreed to be the leader by a person or sort bring outing so that the group is able to go to some maven when in need. Ralph was elected as the leader of the group because he had b lown the conch and had Brought the kids out of the hobo camp, But slowly as the kids low gear to envelope themselves in the island more and more, the same paying attention they pay to Ralph starts to diminish and Ralphs authority over the some other kids begins to be undermined by diddley and some of the other kids. Jack on the other hand, is a powerful, tall, strong boy.
He observes grasping of Ralph being elected as the leader, and starts to undermine Ralphs leaders skills and refuses to listen to him. Although the boys respect Ralph, they resonate Jack as a free person of the island because of his power, and they start to follow him, also undermining Ralphs leadership qualities. Jacks power merely comes from his strength and confidence in precedent of the boys, making some of them feel intimidated and feel that they mustiness listen to him.
